Certain requirements need to be met before being assigned as an Educational Surrogate Parent to a student. An individual having special education decision-making authority must:
- Be older than 18 years of age;
- Not be an employee of a public agency involved in the care or education of the specific student;
- Have no interest that might conflict with the interests of the student; and
- Attend an Intitial Orientation Training
- Complete our Volunteer application, provide two references, and complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Inquiry) .
